Terrible such.Definitely would not recommend attendance to this school for the majority of people

I have mostly learned how to feel inadequate. This school, in my opinion, falsely claims to be a "college prep". Parents please spare your child the negative experience and enroll them at another institution. I recommend Hamilton High School. Teachers there are very experienced and there are more opportunities to be a high-achieving student. If you are genuinely looking for your child to go to a top college etc. do not send them to ACP. Most graduates of ACP remain in-state or attend community college. Under 12 students in this school's history have ventured out-of-state for college/university.

Not great. The teachers hide behind the facade of it being a college prep school. It seems like teachers want my child do do poorly because their classes are "at a college level". This is especially a problem in the math department. In the end it is not the exams or the homework that has brought my child's grades down, it is what I can only think to describe as participation points. For example, my child got a 88% in the Calc BC course simply because they had a 75% in the HW category. PLEASE NOTE: My child completed all homework and got full points however on the side of the "homework stamp sheet" (which had no instructions) they failed to write in the percentages they got on the homework. They thought it was optional as (1) there were no instructions given verbally or on the stamp sheet (2) and all the students just make the numbers up. Ultimately the experience is harrowing as grading tactics are beyond poor. Teachers seem to think they NEED to give my child bad grades because it will "prepare them for the future". Meanwhile, kids at Hamilton, Chandler, and even BASIS schools get every benefit their teachers can offer them, most importantly that of curves and assessment on topics they have actually learned in class, while still getting AP credit.

My child enjoyed the association with like minded focused scholars. But DID NOT enjoy sacrificing life outside of school due to the 6+ hours of homework every night. The homework is unnecessary; often times having multiple assignments covering the same material. I wish the school didn't equate amount of homework with "great school". I'd like to raise a well rounded child with outside interests: family, volunteering, friends, talents. There are few opportunities to diversify - lack of electives and school activities. A dance 2 or 3 times a year doesn't seem right for a high school.
