My two sons entered ACP-O at the start of the school year. One is in 7th grade and the other in 8th grade. They both have been extremely successful. I am so proud of how each of my sons were able to put forth the effort to meet the high standards at ACP. Both of my boys are athletic and immediately joined the sports teams. They enjoyed football and now wrestling. Both of my boys have been able to balance academics with sports and it has been a delight. The Principal is outstanding. Willing to meet and discuss any questions we have had with our transition into ACP. He has helped a great deal in facilitating my boys successes. He even takes the time to get to know them! The teachers are passionate in their specialty areas they teach. We utilize the "power hour" that allows my boys to get questions answered to any new concept they are learning in any subject area. ACP offers a great education and it also offers sports and clubs so that students can choose to be involved in other passions and interest. I recommend the school to all students 6-8. The staff at this school always wants students to do their personal best!! Thank you ACP-O

If you want your child burdened with hours of homework a night because you think this means they provide a "rigorous" education, ACP is the place for you. My child was a straight A student over her three years, but at a cost I regret deeply. Think twice before selecting a school on test scores alone. Find a place with compassionate educators, solid instructional philosophy and a whole child approach. This is not one of those places.

I went to ACP - Oakland two years ago, and it was AWESOME! the teaches are really supportive and they make learning really fun, and there's a wide variety of sports/clubs to choose from! we do take Spanish there, and it is really fun, the way they teach it. I knew sooooo much during the first semester of Spanish! The principal is really nice he is very active, you can see him walking around during lunch/during class and chatting with students. He liked yo come into my art class. yes, there is a bit of homework, but I usually get done in an hour if I don't have to do any long-term assignments. i think anyone can go to ACP if they are willing to learn and do some work!!! Highly recommended.

ACP is rated really high and they brag about their test scores. They leave out the part about being highly selective. They test kids to get in and only take the top students. It is not surprising that their test scores are high later. My child is receiving a good education there. The teachers are very good but everyone pats themselves on the backs for achieving high scores and attributes them to the excellent environment rather than the screening process.
