I would rate this school 11/10 yes I said 11/10. We love Desert Sage, both our kida have gone there since preschool and my oldeat is in 4th grade now. We love that they have the Mandarin program my first grader is obsessed with it. He was able to speak with the nurse practitioner that we know that is fluent Mandarin and they could actually understand him and he was answering back and forth with her. The school is great from the front desk staff, nursing ,PE teachers ,art teachers to the classroom teachers everybody knows everybody you walk in and they know what kid is yours. I call that I really close-knit community and I love it. I also have had friends that were at the school left and want to come back to Desert Sage because they aren't getting the same experience at their neq school. We love Deset Sage.

This is my family's second year at Desert Sage and we love it. The Principal, Ms. Crain, and the secretary, Mrs. Roque, do an excellent job of making the entire family feel welcome and the school running smoothly. There are events throughout the year to bring the community together and allow students additional opportunities to learn about Art and Science. The school also houses a Family Resource Center that offers free educational opportunities for babies-preschoolers and parenting classes. We chose this school because of the Mandarin Immersion program where students spend half their day (Math and Science) being instructed in Mandarin. Language Arts and Social Studies are in English. They will be able to continue their Mandarin studies through high school as the district adds one grade level each year to the program. There are also extracurricular classes and clubs before school that my children have enjoyed participating in for free or very nominal costs (Running Club and Yoga). We briefly used the before and after school program (Gecko Corral) last year and it was very organized and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend this school!

Desert Sage is a warm, welcoming school and this culture is apparent from the principal to the teachers, from the students to the PTO. I am proud to have my children attend Desert Sage, and I know they consistently get quality education from staff who care, are surrounded by people who expect good character, and are treated with respect and kindness. The principal, Mrs. Crain, exerts a calm, kind, yet firm, influence, and I marvel at her ability to quiet a deafening cafeteria assembly with a simple gesture.
