2 kids went through here. The first one had an excellent experience. I was recommending this school to many. Second daughter was right behind her and had an excellent 7th grade year. 8th grade they decided to take away pride time and do intervention and have every kid in the same level. She discovered Mr Lewis to be an amazing math teacher but wasn’t allowed to switch to him. Her math teacher didn’t like the way she learned so punished my daughter daily because she wouldn’t conform. Officer Blackwell is amazing. Coach Bonnell’s office became my daughters safe space.

The teachers with AVID are good and plan well. Spanish teacher needs help with the disrespectful students as she herself is learning English. The principal could use manners with parents.

As a former teacher at VVMS I can say that it is a fair school. While it does have good programs in MYP and AVID, overall the education offered here is adequate at best. The current principal is a weak leader who has seen the population of the school fall every year on her watch, part due to way decreased immigration, but not account for the attrition of other students. The teachers at the school vary from caring to completely apathetic yet the principal refuses to do anything about it. Better schools are out there currently if you have a choice.
