Parents who have reviewed this school obviously have had a bad experience. Two of my three children are enrolled here now and have totally different personalities and learning styles and are doing well academically and socially. The teachers are engaged, of you reach out to administration they are helpful and are willing to not just work with parents but the kids directly too which is an excellent life learning skill they need. We actually live in the Scottddale district and choose to bring our kids to PV because the teachers and experience is far superior and the students are more comfortable with who they are.

My child went to this school for 1 year and could not wait to turn 16 to be able to drop out of school. We have switched schools and his attitude has completely changed. He loves his new school where the teachers and staff actually care about the kids. He is now talking about what college he would like to go to and is an honor roll student.

So many things I dislike about this school I would have to be on a rampage to list them all. Academically I am far from impressed to the point that my child exceeding from Middle School on Aims to failing two and meeting on the other two. Had to pay for two tutors for math and physics. Only a handful of teachers are any good or communicate. The school counselor pretty much non existent and they can't help either. Oh and you must email, wait 12-13 hours for a response and you can not call them, god forbid you call. And drugs yes there are drugs. And I can tell you this school doesn't want to handle the issue. Read the Yelp reviews too, not much different from my impression. So not what I expected. So glad my kid is done.

My daughter is a Senior this year, we started out at PVHS that was plauged with gangs, drugs that were rampent, and kids being bullied and or assalted almost daily.....we moved to Horizon High and honestly it was best thing we could have done. Daughter loves school now and is going to continue on with her education. NO school is perfect ,but Horizon comes close. Only wish everything was not ala-carte....
