Wickenburg High School

I dont go here. But I will be This coming year. My Dad told me were moving and this is the school me and my siblings are ggoing to. Im going to be a Sophmore My brother A Senior and my little Sister a 7th Grader. I was told this is a great school, but I noticed that it is such a big one at that. And I go to a Small School right now. Do tell if this is a great choice for my siblings and I. Thanks Sarah.

I attended this high school from 2008-2012. I strongly do NOT recommend it to you. Whether you want your child to excel in academics or athletics, WHS will be sure to crush that dream. It's been years since either the football or boys basketball teams even made the playoffs. There's a rifle club and w/ all this news about gun violence, is a gun club really a good thing? I had one good teacher my entire time here, the rest did not know how to do their job. My math teachers would fail me for using a different formula than them regardless of my getting the answers correct. My bio teacher would literally just give students the answers when they asked for help. How does that help us learn? This high school also has a larger drug problem than Lance Armstrong. If you send your kids to this school you can trust they'll be exposed. You don't even have to buy it, I was offered by almost complete strangers to go down to the wash and share their pot multiple times. Metal detectors are nonexistent at this school and their are only two cops on the whole of campus. In the 4 yrs I was here the school was evacuated twice, once b/c a kid brought in mercury & once b/c of a bomb threat.

My child just completed their Sophomore year. He is a smart student, but it has been a struggle with this school. The teachers have absolutely no control over their classrooms. I'm always seeing police cars in the parking lot. You'd think that seeing the police cars there would scare the students straight....not so. They still have a HUGE DRUG problem. I'm seriously considering home schooling my child. I was told by an inside source that the principal gets about 20-30 bullying/harassment complaints a day. If you are thinking about bringing your children to this school, you might want to think again. I know other parents who have tried to volunteer, but were turned away. Apparently they don't appreciate or need parent involvement.

One of the Nations Best Schools! By any measure; academics, activities, athletic, facilities, students, parents, community support, teachers, administrators, Wickenburg High is a terrific school. I am very fortunate to live in Wickenberg and have my two children go to Wickenburg High School.
