According to the Dallas Business Journal, a 1930s factory building near Dallas Farmers Market is undergoing a green redevelopment that’s transforming the abandoned 60,000 square-foot facility into trendy co-working offices, residential and hotel lofts, and a coffee shop along with event space and two courtyards.

Because of a grant from the Sue Pope Fund for Pollution Reduction, the building at 1808 South Good Latimer also contains a $300,000 solar system with 454 solar panels, which have the capacity to provide nearly 46 percent of the building’s power needs.

Designed by GGO Architects and GoodWork, the nearly two-year redo is close to winding down. In January, contractors will add the finishing touches, and the building will be ready for occupancy.

Per the development group, the building is being redeveloped for "independent collaborators, growing businesses, and community cultivators.”

Upon completion, the group will pursue LEED and WELL building certifications, owner Steve Kinder told the Business Journal.
