Right now, a huge parking lot takes up much of the 1.88-acre site next door to the Hotel Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles. If developer Regalian has their way, a 66-story tower will soon fill that space and redefine the local skyline.

Per Urbanize LA, plans have been filed with the city for a massive mixed-use project at 925 S. Figueroa Street that would include 200 condo units, a 220-room hotel, 94,000 square feet of commercial space, and a 617-car garage. Depending on the actual height, it could very easily end up being one of the five-tallest buildings in Los Angeles. However that doesn't account for other projects in the works with similar height plans.

Consider this the latest in a long line of proposed projects that will remake the bustling South Park neighborhood located just north of the L.A. Live complex and Staples Center. There are also plans for a 57-story mixed-user on nearby Olympic Blvd as well as a three-tower complex at the junction of Olympic Blvd and Harbor Freeway. Assuming these projects are approved, things are going to look very different around here five years from now.
