Wine aficionados around Houston have a lot to look forward to in April. Although wine drinking isn’t limited to any season, April has several festivals and wine dinners that will appeal to locals. Here are just a few of the wine tasting and dining events you can look forward to this month.

Toast to Spring - River Oaks

La Griglia is celebrating the arrival of spring with a special dinner. For anyone who has never been, La Griglia is an Italian restaurant near River Oaks. Like much of the surrounding neighborhood, it boasts an upscale aesthetic that draws diners who want to eat in fine yet festive surroundings. On April 18, the restaurant will be hosting the Marchesi Antinori Wine Dinner. The perfect event for wine lovers who also want to enjoy Italian food, the wine dinner will include an opening reception followed by five courses of fine dining. Each course will also be accompanied by a different wine. 

Wine Fair Cy-Fair - Cypress

Anyone wanting to enjoy wine in a more casual environment should head to Wine Fair Cy-Fair. This affordable event will open with rounds of sparkling wine during the pre-party before guests get a chance to go between 30 wine and beer tasting stations. Held April 21, the fair will open with the pre-party at Hanan’s Café, while the beer tasting will be held at the Backyard Grill Beer Garden and the wine tasting will be held at Cypress Village Station. Food will also be available from local Cypress restaurants.

Tasting with Ntsiki Biyela - Rice Military

Anyone hoping for a smaller wine drinking affair will want to head to Ogun Art + Wine. Ogun is a neighborhood wine bar located near to the Rice Military area, not far from the popular Buffalo Bayou Park. Yet another of the popular local establishments in the area, Ogun distinguishes itself through its focus on surrounding guests with impeccable artwork. On April 22, Ogun’s will be welcoming Ntsiki Biyela, a South African wine maker. In conjunction with Branwar Wines, Ogun’s will be giving Biyela a chance to feature her signature wines.

Parmeson Wine Dinner - The Woodlands

Returning to the idea of the wine dinner, wine lovers living in north Houston have the chance to enjoy wine at Fleming’s Steakhouse for its Parmeson Wine Dinner. The popular restaurant makes a suitable addition to The Woodlands Waterway — the downtown area of The Woodlands neighborhood. The wine dinner will happen on April 21 and includes four courses and a dessert, with each course accompanied by a different Parmeson Wine.
