Real estate developer Olsen Homes officially broke ground for Magnolia Walk, a new residential development of single-family houses in Los Angeles County’s unincorporated community of Willowbrook. The upcoming development, which was formerly known as the Salinas Avenue Home Ownership Project, will span throughout a 9.5-acre parcel located at 13024 Salinas Ave.

According to Urbanize, the company made a deal with LA County to dedicate 30 townhomes for moderate- to lower-income home buyers for a period of 45 years. The remaining 64 residences would be sold at market-rate. Home prices are set to start at $80,000 for affordable housing and $400,000 for market-rate townhomes.

Per The Real Deal, Magnolia Walk will consist of 94 detached townhomes ranging between 1,400 and just over 2,000 square feet. The site is a few blocks south of the 104-acre Earvin “Magic” Johnson Recreational Area in South LA.

The anticipated residential project is not expected to finish until late 2019 or early 2020. However, home sales will start as early as 2018.
