Plans to level the long-shuttered Chevron service station at the corner of Van Ness and Union in the Cow Hollow neighborhood are slated to go before San Francisco’s Planning Commission for approval.

The goal of the plan is to build a contemporary seven-story building at the 2465 Van Ness Ave. site, featuring 41 market-rate condos, 2,800 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a basement garage for 31 cars and 41 bikes. Of the condos, 10 will be one-bedrooms, 24 will be two-bedrooms, and 7 will be three-bedrooms.

The former gas station on the site was shuttered in 2009, and the underground tanks were removed in 2010. It was then confirmed that contamination from the removed tanks would not pose a public health threat or environmental hazard. Plans to build condos at the site have been in the works since 2015, according to a SocketSite report

Once the project is officially approved by the Planning Commission, crews can break ground, as permits have already been requested and triaged.
