A closed golf course at the Century Village retirement village in Deerfield Beach will be the site of a new 201-unit townhouse project by Toll Brothers, per The Real Deal.

The townhouses will be located on 23 acres of the 83-acre golf course, which has been closed for four years, with the remaining 60 acres converted to a park for Century Village. Unlike Century Village, which is geared for individuals ages 55 and older, the townhouse development will not be age restricted. The two complexes will be separated by a wall and the townhouse development will have its own entrance on Goolsby Boulevard.

The Deerfield Beach City Commission approved the project, but Broward County officials must change the land use designation from recreational to residential before the project moves forward.

According to a Deerfield Beach official, the townhouse development and a residential redevelopment of the Crystal Lake Golf Club will provide the first new housing in Deerfield Beach in 25 years.
