Developers Eye Doral for Condo Hotel Project
Developers submitted plans over the summer to build an 11-story condo hotel in Doral at a site that currently has two hotels, per The South Florida Business Journal.
The site at 3265 N.W. 107th Ave. currently has two hotels, the Aloft and the Element, which have 284 rooms in total. Zoning allows for another hotel and a parking garage on the vacant portion of the site. A condo hotel typically does not have a hotel brand attached to it but allows investors to buy individual rooms.
The proposed hotel would have 186 rooms in 123,396 square feet. It would also have 9,700 square feet of first-floor retail space, 1,940 square feet of meeting rooms, and a 11th floor with amenities and outdoor terraces. The six-story parking garage would have 10,800 square feet of retail space and 6,960 square feet of meeting rooms. Plans also call for a ground-floor pool and public art sculpture.
Eurocon LLC, which submit the plans, is owned by companies managed by Orlando Padron, Henry Contreras, and Jorge L. Gutierrez-Mendoza. The architect is Javier Font, of Behar Font & Partners.
