Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced April 17 that five Houston areas will be the target of his new Complete Communities program, according to Houston Public Media

The selected neighborhoods are:

The program will improve neighborhoods by adding a dedicated staff available to assist the neighborhoods with needs including managing stray animals, trash, and weeds. Increasing affordable housing opportunities, improving access to public transit, fixing sidewalks, maintaining parks, dealing with food deserts, and taking care of abandoned properties are other goals. 

The city launch a website for the program and will host public meetings for it.
