Asteria Highlands, the proposed name of a future subdivision in north Scottsdale, was just given approval for a zoning request of 31 lots, according to the Scottsdale Independent

The Scottsdale City Council unanimously gave real estate developer Hines entitlements on two sections of the property, which increased allowable density from 13 units to 31. The property has actually been zoned as a single-family development since the city of Scottsdale annexed it way back in 1983.

With the intention of preserving desert views, the 40-acre parcel is located at the southwest corner of 128th Street and Alameda Road, between the Desert Crest at Troon Ridge and Sonoran Crest neighborhoods. Per the city’s documents, 14.69 acres will be designated to open space with a 100-foot-wide scenic corridor proposed along N. 128th St.

Per Hines officials, construction will be underway sometime in 2018 with a completion date expected later that year or in early 2019.
