Luxury community Ascaya in Henderson was recently chosen as the site for the 2019 New American Home, a design challenge hosted by the National Home Builders Association, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Each year, the organization selects a U.S. location where industry professionals will design and build a designer home with top-of-the-line architecture, materials, and technology. Sun West Custom Homes will build the luxury residence, which will debut at the 2019 National Association of Home Builder’s Show next February. After the home is completed, thousands will be able to visit the site to view its innovative design.

Ascaya’s views of both the mountains and The Strip were a deciding factor in its selection. Among the newest luxury developments in Las Vegas, Ascaya’s 313 homesites range from $485,000 to $5.9 million. The 2019 New American Home is worth about $4.9 million and will be a 7,900-square-foot, one-story construction with five bedrooms and five bathrooms. One of the highlights of the home is a courtyard and an open concept that blends the family room and living area into one grand space. The home will also include a four-car garage, infinity pool, hot tub, and outdoor heating.

The team designing the home also wants the space to have net-zero features and the best possible Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index rating. While the standard home has a HERS rating of 100, the current home is slated to have a rating of 50 (the lower the score, the more efficient).

This year’s New American Home will fit right into this neighborhood, which sits 1,000 feet above the valley. Last year, Ascaya debuted its $25 million clubhouse, a 23,000-square-foot luxury space long-awaited by residents who moved into Ascaya in 2017. Designed by award-winning firm Swaback Partners, the clubhouse includes a fitness center, playroom, tennis courts, an infinity pool, and a kitchen that Wolfgang Puck designed specifically for the development. Ascaya also recently completed its third Inspiration Home.

Although work has already begun, this year’s New American Home won’t be complete until November.
