The Houston-area master-planned community of Springwoods Village, one of the many sustainable master-planned communities cropping up, is getting its third hotel. The Houston Chronicle reports Woodbine Development Corp. recently broke ground on Marriott CityPlace, a full-service hotel offering a restaurant and event space.

The Marriott is Woodbine’s third hotel in the community, but the first full-service hotel in CityPlace, Springwood Village’s LEED certified mixed-use development. The 10-story, 337-room hotel is planned to open in November 2018.

Being built out over 10 years, Springwoods Village strives to be a sustainable community with Energy Star homes, preserved natural ecosystems, and walkable retail, dining, offices, and public amenities. The community is already home to some big employers, including ExxonMobil, Southwestern Energy, and CHI St. Luke's hospital.
