Proposed La Crescenta Development Looks For LA Approval
The Crescenta Valley Town Council has given its recommendation to a proposed townhouse and mixed-use project in La Crescenta. Now it's up to Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning to decide whether or not it will be approved.
YST Investment’s development plans call for the demolition of a two-story commercial building and 10 residential units in order to build a two-lot project. The lot at 3043 Foothill Boulevard calls for 18 condos in a three-story complex over 9,500 square feet of street-level commercial space. The lot at 3037 Foothill Boulevard would include 29 townhouses within a three-story structure. A garden, outdoor pool, and underground parking will also be included.
The project had run into a petition from locals who felt that designs called for an "ugly building" while also calling for further traffic and environmental studies. Many of those demands were met and alterations were made by Ardmore Partners, including the preservation of some oak trees and a reduction in roof dock units.
Now it's up to the Department of Regional Planning whether or not the changes are enough to go ahead and start construction.
