What makes a city a “fun” city? Opinions and metrics vary. Wallethub compiled a list of 150 cities across the nation and took into account a variety of “fun” metrics to determine which is the most fun in America. Arizona did not disappoint.

Using data across three dimensions — entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties, and costs — WalletHub created a score up to 100 to represent the variety of fun and cost-effective activities in each city.

Coming in at No. 26 is Tucson. With a total score of 42.59 (only 25.66 points behind No. 1 spot Las Vegas) the city can claim state victory. The city was No.14 overall in terms of having the best prices. Nightlife and parties earned No. 39, undoubtedly for areas such as 4th Avenue in Downtown that offers a variety of bars and clubs. The entertainment and recreation category also fared well, earning the No. 27 spot.

Scottsdale fell shortly behind at No. 31 earning a total of 40.53 points. The city did well at No. 34 for nightlife, offering rowdy clubs and high-end bars to sip cocktails Downtown. A highlight for Scottsdale was finishing fourth overall in terms of parkland acreage per capita.

Tempe came in at No. 38 with 39 points while Phoenix followed at No. 47 with 37.68 points.
