A new dog park in the NoMa neighborhood is in desperate need of a name. A survey to name the park is available through Nov. 27.

According to the NoMa Parks Foundation website, the roughly 8,000 square foot park is adjacent to the Loree Grand apartment building. It will feature gathering spaces, a children’s vertical play structure, a dog agility ramp and a large open space for dogs to play in.

The park was designed by Lee and Associates, a D.C.-based landscape architecture firm. The general contractor is Blue Skye Construction, the NoMa Parks Foundation said.

A Nov. 9 update on the website noted that construction had experienced some delays, and the completion date would therefore be pushed from November 2017 to late January 2018.

Still, construction has progressed. The NoMa Parks Foundation noted that the bioretention cells (stormwater management) and a retaining wall had been completed. Concrete benches along L Street and 3rd Street are underway.

The site is not open during construction but the sidewalks remain open.
