Food halls are becoming a big trend in North Texas. According to the Dallas Morning News the latest one is coming to Legacy West in Plano. The food hall in Plano will have a wide variety of cuisines, representing flavors from the Middle East to Asia and with a significant nod to local Texas fare.

The food hall will include 22 restaurants, with entries by local chefs like John Tesar, who will open Knife Burger, which is a nod to his popular restaurant Knife. Tiffany Derry’s Roots Chicken Shak will serve up fried chicken wings.

In addition to offering a variety of international cuisines, the food hall will also feature Texan favorites like barbecue, pizza, burgers, and tacos. The goal is to have options that will appeal to everyone.

Food halls are becoming a big trend nationwide, including in Dallas and Fort Worth. The concept of the food hall is not only trendy, it’s driving a possible change in the restaurant industry. Diners appreciate the many options at a food hall, especially when dining with a group of people with diverse tastes. Real estate developers like the fact that food halls use space well and tend to be located near urban residential or business areas.

As recently reported, the food hall Factory Six03 is coming to the West End in Dallas. It will feature six to seven restaurants and bars.

Fort Worth is also getting its own food hall at Crockett Row at West 7th in the Cultural District. The Fort Worth food hall will include 14 restaurants. Like the Legacy West food hall, Crockett Row at West 7th will feature a variety of international cuisines.
