According to the Dallas Morning News, Champ d’Or — the largest mansion in North Texas — is still up for sale per its owner, Dallas businessman Zaf Tabani.

This summer, Tabani put the ultra-lavish 48,000-square-foot mansion up for auction with New York-based Concierge Auctions. Since June, the elite online auction house has listed a sale pending on its website. But Tabani doesn’t expect the prospective buyer to follow through.

“The guy that bid the money couldn't close," Tabani told the News. "It's not under contract. It is always for sale, and anyone interested can contact me."

Built in 2002 by original owners Alan Goldfield and his wife Shirley, Champ d’Or lives up to its name, which means Field of Gold. Besides creatively depicting the Goldfield surname, the couple sunk $50 million into building the Vaux-le-Vicomte -inspired showplace, which includes a breathtaking staircase leading from the foyer to the mansion’s domed ceiling, a Tavern on the Green-style tea room, and a lavish two-story closet in the master suite that’s modeled after Chanel.

In addition to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, other features include six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a spa, steam room, hair salon, movie theater, and bowling alley.

Located outside the small town of Hickory Creek near Denton, Champ d’Or is surrounded by private lakes and lush gardens.

In 2012, the Greenfields sold the mansion to Tabani after determining it was too big for their needs. According to Concierge Auctions, Champ d’Or could also be an ideal fit as an executive retreat, luxury bed and breakfast, retirement center, medical or spa facility.
