Some parts of the country have pretty stable populations, with few people moving in or out of the area. But North Texas isn’t such a place. If you’ve come to Dallas-Fort Worth from another place, you’re not alone: Approximately 80,000 new people move to the area each year. According to a study by the online relocation technology firm Updater.com, reported by the Dallas Morning News, this ranked Dallas-Fort Worth No. 2 on a list of cities with the highest number of moves.

Washington, D.C. topped the list of cities with the most number of moves. After Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles came in third and New York City was fourth. Other major Texas cities also ranked high in the top 10, with Austin at No. 6 and Houston at No. 7.

According to the report that ranked the number of moves each year, the Dallas area has many features making it appealing to new residents. In addition to the strong job market, the Metroplex has a more affordable cost of living, warm weather during most of the year, and many entertainment options and amenities.
