Plans to construct an eight-story building yielding 10 condos and retail space could soon become a reality. The concept for a boutique eight-story building to rise at 1870 Market St. in San Francisco is going before the city’s Planning Commission, SocketSite reports.

The building would yield 10 condos over 400 square feet of retail space facing Market Street. There would also be a roof deck on top of the building for residents. The underdeveloped parcel sits between a four-story building at 1874-1878 Market St. and the newer 8-story building being called “Venn on Market,” according to SocketSite

Some Duboce Triangle neighbors have expressed concerns that the development would cast shadows which would negatively affect the neighboring four-story building’s rooftop solar panels. Despite this, the Planning Department supports the height, scale, and form of the proposal, stating that it aligns with zoning laws and height limits.
