The proposed redevelopment of the “One $ Store” located at the intersection of Mission and 17th streets in Mission District has been in the works since 2009. The project could finally be moving forward soon as it’s slated to be approved by San Francisco’s Planning Commission, per SocketSite

The proposed 2100 Mission St. project is designed to be six stories in height with 29 residential units and ground-floor retail space. The development was previously expected to include a parking garage for 15 cars but that has been scrapped in favor of a storage area with room for 29 bikes.

The look of the building will also be different than what was originally planned. Locals condemned the initial design for being too upscale for the neighborhood, per SocketSite. The facade was since been reworked by the designers to better fit in with the surrounding buildings.
