Scottsdale City Council Approves Amendments for Two New Subdivisions
The Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved three General Plan amendments that will expand two residential subdivisions, according to Scottsdale Independent.
The first was for neighborhood zoning on a subdivision called Siena Estates near the New Papago Parkway neighborhood. The 3.8-acre site at N. Cattletrack Road and N. Sundown Drive will now be zoned for a seven-lot subdivision across three plots of land. The site also includes three lots of a previously zoned subdivision called Schaffner Estates.
The second amendment changed the land-use designation from “office” to “suburban neighborhoods” for a site on E. Pinnacle Peak Road near the Sonoran Hills neighborhood. The 19.7-acre site was also approved for a zoning district map amendment. The proposed development will include 55 single-family residential units.
The Bell Group Self Storage application sought to change the zoning on 2.8 acres of their property from “rural neighborhoods” to “commercial” and the remainder of their 4.6-acre site from “service residential” to “neighborhood commercial.” There was pushback from residents who didn’t want to see their property values affected but the council approved it with a 4-3 vote.
