Scripps Health is a big name in health care in San Diego County. Based on their recently announced plans to renovate or expand all five of their campuses, they’re about to get much bigger, per 10 News.

The San Diego campus will undergo a huge transformation. The existing building will be replaced by an entirely new 710,000-square-foot, 15-story tower. The central energy plant will be upgraded as well. Construction is expected to take place between 2022 and 2027.

At their hospital in La Jolla, they’re going to construct a new seven-story, 401,000-square-foot hospital tower featuring a women's health center, nursery, and neonatal ICU. The building is expected to be completed by 2024.

The Encinitas facility will gain a 185,000-square-foot, three-story care building and medical office building. The site will also receive seismic retrofitting. Work is expected to be finished by 2024.

Both the Chula Vista and La Jolla hospitals will undergo seismic retrofitting, with work beginning in 2022 and 2027, respectively.

Smaller projects that are a part of the $2.8 billion redevelopment plans include two new outpatient cancer centers in San Diego and La Jolla as well as a new clinic in Oceanside.
