Design company Rios Clementi Hale Studios and the urban planning group Community Art Resources are holding three design workshops in Downtown Los Angeles beginning this month. The meetings are meant to gather feedback from the community regarding the upcoming South Grand Park, which will provide a public greenspace for those living in the DTLA neighborhood of South Park.

South Grand Park will be built in front of a 38-story mixed-use high-rise, which is currently being constructed. The $1.2 billion project is being developed by Mack Urban.

The first out of three design workshops took place on Oct. 2. However, if you were unable to attend this particular workshop, don’t fret because a second workshop will be Oct. 23 and the third will be Nov. 13.

During these meetings, organizers will have the opportunity to receive suggestions and ideas from the community. By the end of these design workshops, the upcoming greenspace will be redesigned to meet the community’s needs. Residents can also submit their input on South Grand Park’s Facebook page.

The half-acre public green area is set to open sometime in mid-2019.
