Once complete, TEX Rail will bring commuter train service from southwest Fort Worth to DFW International Airport along 27 miles of track. Airport officials have now confirmed that they’ll have an operational station ready for September 2018.

The DFW Airport board has hired contractor Archer Western of Irving to build a station next to the existing DART light rail station at Terminal A. The new station, which will connect to Terminal B, will cost an estimated $28.4 million.

The two stations will be connected by a walkway so that riders can easily transfer between trains and terminals. According to one official, the design of the new station will be very similar to the DART one.

While the stations are expected to be ready by September 2018, TEX Rail service is currently scheduled to begin in November 2018. Between downtown Fort Worth and DFW, stops will include the North Fort Worth, North Richland Hills and Grapevine.
