The office building planned at Lake and Halsted in Fulton Market has undergone a number of changes recently, according to Curbed Chicago. Initially slated to be a 14-story boutique office building, the project has grown to a 17-story plan.

Shapack Partners and Focus Development, the team behind the project, acquired an additional site, which was initially meant to be the home of a five-story boutique office building, according to the report. This acquisition allowed the plan to grow from 14 stories to 17 stories and 725,000 square feet. Plus, the number of parking spaces has increased from 50 to 129.

The larger development will now include two addresses: 167 N. Green St. and 170 N. Halsted St.

The earlier, smaller iteration of the building was designed by GREC Architects, according to the report. Gensler designed the new, 17-story design for the building, according to the report.

The new development will also feature a pedestrian pathway that connects Green Street and Halsted Street, according to the report. The pathway, known as “the mews,” will be open to the public. People will be able to enter the office building’s lobby, as well as five different retail areas.

The earlier version of the project received the green light, but the updated version will need to earn the go-ahead from the City Council, Curbed Chicago reports.
