Construction for the Marriott Edition development in West Hollywood is underway.

The 1.37-acre development is located at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Doheny Drive on the Sunset Strip. Spearheading the project are Marriott International, the real estate firm Witkoff Group, and investment company New Valley. According to Urbanize LA, plans call for not only a hotel but also condominiums, office space, and retail.

Renderings designed by John Pawson and Ian Schrager show two mid-rise towers with balconies covered in lush, terraced gardens. The first 13-story rectangular building would face Sunset Boulevard while the sloped nine-story tower would sit towards the back of the property. Although approximately 148 rooms will be used as hotel space (renting between $400-500 per night), the rest of the development would include 20 condos as well as office and retail space.

Construction for the project is expected to finish by the end of 2018.
