Horrible school and horrible 1st year experience for my child. I give the Principal Shirley Williams 2 thumbs up but the Assistant Principal 2 thumbs down. Most of the staff don't seem suitable to be working with young children. Most of them won't even speak. My childs teacher is rude. She won't speak even if we are the only adults in the room, she gets obviously annoyed if you ask any type of question that seems to challenge her. It breaks my heart to leave my child at this school everyday. We are counting down the days until this year is over. Test scores don't lie!

Since Principal Shirley Williams arrived four years ago, Citrus has been transformed. She got rid of the dead wood on the teaching staff - and there was a lot of it - and hired fantastic new young excited teachers who are super tech-savvy and enthusiastic. There are tens of thousands of dollars of new books in the library and a new standard of behavior expectations. A partnership with a community group has resulted in two new computer labs and a student store where kids spend "power paws" they earn by going above and beyond the call of duty. Parents are participating in greater numbers as they feel welcomed and encouraged. There is a real family culture at the school and the kids are cherished.

Citrus is a very nurturing school. The teachers go above and beyond the classroom experience. It has been a tough year with the classroom sizes having more students than in the past years but the teachers have appeared to have risen to the challenge. The only problem appears to be lack of parent help in the classroom.

The teachers are excellent, the principal is a visionary and truly wishes to educate the children with her team, there is a good volunteer base and lots of children to help. Where are the parents? Come and participate in your child's education.
