My daughter is a 2nd grader in the Dual Language Program at Loma Verde Elementary. I was initially hesitant to enroll her here because of the negative comments I had read about the former principal. This is her home school, they were getting a new principal and they offered the DI Program so in she went! She has had wonderful teachers thus far. Her Kinder teachers Ms. Holmes and Sr. Lopez really set the bar high! Some of her teachers have been very firm and strict but I am okay with that. To me that shows that they expect a lot of their students and it pushes them to try their very best! The DI program has been very challenging but I do see lot of progress in her and I highly recommend it. The school is very big on teaching their students about compassion, respect and doing the right thing. I cannot comment on the Principal Ms. Velasquez as I have not had any interaction with her. My daughter enjoys attending the special events the school puts on such as the Fall Festival and the Multi Cultural Fair. She loves her school so much that she asks me to drive by during the breaks because she misses her school and friends. I am very happy with the progress at Loma Verde!

Loma Verde Elementary not only has a good learning enviornment but gives kids the love and comfort that sometimes is lacking at home do to a divorce or single parent working late hours, etc. I personally thank the Loma Verde Elementary School staff for all the support that is given to my grandchildren on daily basis. God Bless! : )

Has a parent it's been hard to schedule an appointment with the principal and there is a lack of communication with the teachers. There is also a lack of leadership and time management from the principle. When it come to bullying none of the staff cares about kids fighting. The principle doesn't have time and seems that doesn't care if kids are being bullied. I am not happy with the school I do not see my kids being in this school next year.
