Poorly. It seems like schools in the city prioritize having a level of excellence and it’s less important here.

We recently moved from Roseville. Our kids loved their old schools and were disappointed to find out they would be attending with elementary grades despite being in 6th and 8th grade. Perhaps the families that grew up here don't know better, but the older grades should be treated with more respect and independence and should not be succumb to pre-school methods of discipline over things that in my mind are typical behaviors of pre-teens and teens. The limited communication I have received from the school has been about booster club, school pride and discipline. Hardly anything about educating the kids. I know my kids aren't perfect, but I feel they should have some flexibility and that the teachers should take more responsibility for talking with the kids about disruptions or behavior issues and not just having them pull a "card." Not a single person I spoke to recommended this school when we moved here. Unfortunately we are unable to choose a different school at this time or we would.

My two children have gone from Kindergarten to 8th grade at this school, and have loved every teacher. When my 8th grader had a medical issue this year, her homeroom teacher actually came to our house with her work, and a poster that her classmates and all her teachers had signed. Dr. Simon is wonderful as the Principal/Superintendent. He has increased both academic and extra-curricular activities and started new traditions such as family picnics and having each class adopt and learn about a college or university. Student successes are celebrated each month in school assemblies called Bulldog Blasts. Go Bulldogs!

Awesome school with great teachers and staff. My kids have had a great experience and like to go to school. I would definitely recommend this area to live and send your kids to an excellent school.
