I give the school a 1. And the district a 1 also. When you seen better you know better. I hate that this is my child's home district.

This is my children's first year at this school, I have never had so much trouble with a school in such a short amount of time. Some teachers don't seem to care about teaching. Coming from a very good school in the Whittier area I have to say I will be getting a district transfer for the coming school year. My children will no longer be apart of this ridiculous district.

This school is on the upswing. The new principal, Salvador Aquino is making positive changes in the way the students are taught. He is also providing the teachers with a lot of professional development opportunities. He is a good, positive leader and has a good grasp on the changes that need to take place in order for students to have the best education possible. Class size, especially Special Education classes, is alarmingly high. That is an issue that is basically out of a principal's control. Parents need to voice their concerns directly to the superintendent and the school board if they want to see changes made. It is the higher ups whose decisions clearly show their lack of concern for students. If parents don't speak up nothing will change.

My child attend this school, he is so far behind. I think the teachers at roosevelt elementary should start having work shops with the teachers at laurel elementary school in compton so that they can improve on these students grades.
