Great School and I love the students, they are so nice.

Very very good so far, but my son has only gone there a few months.

So far, I despise this school and I am not proud of going here. It’s not that it’s a bad school, but it’s most of the staff members and admins that are. I know they don’t get paid enough to even care for this job, but if you’re going to be a teacher or admin, it isn’t only about teaching kids, it’s also about connecting with them and understanding them. My friends who are constantly stressed out try to get help from their teachers because they’re supposed to “be there for them when they need it”, but sadly that isn’t the case. Two of my other friends got so desperate to be able to relieve some stress that they went as far as to getting suspended. They realize what they did was wrong and they’re sorry for it, but guess what they get hit back with? “You’re ruining Homestead’s name”. Don’t make me laugh, that’s pathetic. I know this is just me ranting at this point, but I’m also trying to point out that Homestead only wants to live up to its name, nothing more nothing less.

The teachers and student body are outstanding. Student families are extremely supportive. Still, compared to the other schools in the Fremont Union High School District, this is an under-performing school based on the inexperience of its Principal, Greg Giglio. He's an able manager (from a Pleasanton HS), but little vision and low expectations. Not ready for Silicon Valley.
