As of right now I hate the staff at 2 if you were raised in it 1 through 10

We moved here my daughters sophomore year and as parents we were concerned about the usual, bullying, academics and general happiness of our daughter. We have been very pleased. The kids were very welcoming and friendly to her. The academics, are not as rigorous as San Diego, there is plenty of opportunity to take more challenging classes and she is still on track for UC eligibility. We really like this school.

Our son is just starting his Sophomore year. After going to 13 -yes 13- different high schools myself, I must say, Union Mine is an absolute joy! They are extremely student focused. The block schedule is amazing. Special "D-back" days allow kids to either make up missed work or enjoy extra-curricular activities during school time. The administrative staff is helpful. My son LOVES 11 out of 12 teachers he's had (the 12th was only "alright") so far. Lots of AP classes. Opportunity to graduate early. Beautiful campus design and landscape. Tons of extra-curriculars to choose from- not just sports. Weekly emails from principal keep you well-informed. Aeries access to grades/attendance. Staff is on top of dress code control and there is a zero tolerance for bullying. Enormous parking lots. Two gymnasiums. Modern electronic marque. What else can I say?

Union Mine is a clean, safe school. Everyone is accepting of everyone and it is located in a small country town. Its very new and the staff is great with interacting and teaching. Our sports programs have grown tremendously and our band program, which i am in, has grown and become one of the better ones in the area. Some students, having grown up in such a small town and going to school with the same people since kindergarten, seem to be farely sheltered which can be a problem because going out to college will be a different experience. I grew up in more of a city, then moved here, and it's definately a different Lifestyle. Overall, Union Mine is a clean school with great ratings, but we are ust starting to get the hang of everything, being as we are new.
