The teacher that buillyng the kid at this school

I was a student at this high school all four years, and I had a great high school experience. I had great teachers that were actively involved and truly wanted each student to succeed. I felt prepared for college, and enjoyed the variety of classes there were to choose from, like Drawing & Painting to Engineering Design. I enjoyed being a part of a school sports team, and felt that there was a wide variety of students there. Overall, I felt prepared for college courses and often look back on my experiences at Vista.

I have attended this school for the past years and I have been severely bullied. Many of the times these occurrences were in front of teachers and they did nothing nor did any of my classmates. I either asked for help later from the teachers as well as from the VP's and they said it was up to me to figure out to handle this or they forced me to confront my tormentors making me feel utterly defenseless and have lead to me having severe mental health problems. I have a 504 in place which is government document allowing accommodations for disabilites (mine is for ADHD) and for almost a year they refused these accommodations and I had to file a report to the office of civil rights and only until after this government agency came in they listened. I know hundreds of people who have been bullied at this school and I know dozens who continue to be bullied for their body weight, ethnicity, religion, and disability (whether or not it is clearly visible). Students are afraid of telling adults about being bullied because their is a culture of unwillingness to help and they know if they tell administration, administration will force them to confront their tormentors. Our school is known as the mean school, where if you send your kid here, they will be bullied. Please think of this before sending your child here.

Overall it's been well. Some teachers have put on more left-leaning socialist views but they were respectful. Beautiful campus with many different programs including the Guitar Programs and Academics. There is a growing problem with tensions from the LGBT group against other students and also racism is rare here, it's often that racism is directed towards mostly White and Middle Eastern students here. Overall, it is a great school but we should direct more attention to academics and athletics instead of extracurricular activities.
