Overall, this is a great school. Middle School is hard for students so adding additional counselors would be great.

Wonderful school with a great new principal!

We have had a good experience with my 6th grader. I am surprised by some of the negative reviews, although I see that the negative reviews are REALLY old, so apparently things have changed over time, so it is kind of sad that the school is not showing a higher parent rating, which is why I decided to write a review about how it fares currently. My son has not experienced any bullying and is happy at the school. I feel the homework is appropriate. He's really excited about going to Science Camp, and they have an advanced program called Odyssey of the Mind, which is a great after school program. There are quite a few opportunities to compete for various subjects like math, science, speech, etc. So, there are opportunities to go beyond the normal school day for those children that want to advance to a higher level of educational experiences. There is even a summer program that gives the kids a college experience at Sac State. So, the opportunities for your children to grow is definitely there, it just boils down to parents taking advantage of all the school has to offer both during the normal school day and beyond.
