Overall good! Nothing to complain about except better contact with parents!

This the worse school ever, they will hold your child back but would not offer tutoring are nothing. Have fights at school they will not notify the parents. You sign report card to set up meeting with teacher they will not respond. No communication with the parents at all. Its not a blue ribbon school no more that was the past.. Their motto no kids left behind. Its a Joke with this school.

I am REALLY happy with Highland. It is a great, safe learning environment for my son, who's in 1st grade now, and who I took out of ICEF Elementary school after a month there. The teachers really care about the students and know their names whether their students or not. My son is thriving there, feels cared for, nurtured and is learning a lot. We've switched principals (last year's principal was great also) and I'm really happy with Principal Dr. Beasley and her efforts to immediately connect with the students and community. The school continues to get Blue Ribbon High Achievement award. They also have 3 different afterschool programs and one of the few schools I see with such a huge GRASS play area. Other schools frequently come to play soccer here. I would love to see them offer a language immersion program here or an after-school spanish/english class so my son can learn Spanish. My son is excelling in all aspects of his education math, reading, language, science etc. Very pleased.

i think this school is alright it thought me alot about how the world really is it thought me how to make choices and suffer the consequences of my choices, but there are some things i like like my friends and activities here there alot of stuff to do in this school, i also like the teacher, well most of them cause they thought me a lot and show me that you have to do stuff for your self and not for the satisfaction of anyone else through and through think this is a good school and i would recommend it to anyone, o one more thing dont get sucked into pure pressure dont try and be someone your not, and dont do things so that someone will like you for because at the end you'll end up regreting it im an 8th grade student and i approve this message
