Alderwood Elementary School

Academics are STRONG. This school builds a strong foundation for the students.

Highly recommend. My oldest has been there four years now, and my youngest has been there two. All six of my kids’ teachers have been fantastic—they’ve communicated well with parents, they’ve taken the time to get to know my kids individually, and they’ve had a good understanding of my kids’ academic needs. I’ve also been quite impressed with Principal Cheshire. She is on the ball and is always interacting with parents and kids, she even personally called us when we sent an email with questions regarding how distance learning would be implemented. My oldest spent his first two years of elementary school at a highly rated East Coast school, and Alderwood has been leaps and bounds ahead of our experience there.

Started this school while the former principal was in place (and many of the negative reviews are about). However since Mrs Cheshire has taken over every year the school has become better and better! Better communication with parents, implementing new curriculum, supporting the teachers to be their best

We were actually displaced to this school because our home school was full. We have been offered a spot there since a space opened up but we choose to make the drive and continue going to Alderwood. They have a strong community and welcoming loving staff. The teachers have always been open and willing to listen to any concerns I have and help my children anyway they can.
