Comment in the Independent newspaper:A parent with children in the program (Dual immersion) told the board that the family chose to send the children to Junction because of the DI program. "It is an outstanding, evolving program. It is why we won't consider moving out of the area."

I was impressed and still am of the graduation rate of each 8th grade class. The students wrote speeches about how their teachers played a big role in their learning and encouraged them to reach their goals. I have 1 year old son and when he completes 5th grade, he'll definitely be attending middle school at Junction.

The immersion program works for the children to learn English and Spanish but in the upper grades, 3rd and 4th grade there are serious discipline issues that affect the whole class. A great percentage of the students are below grade level, sometimes two and three grades behind in Math and English. These kids go to special classes to help them catch up but there is not much progress in most classes. My child is bored and tells me that she feels that is not learning anything. The insults and language that some kids use is very, very inappropriate and the movies they watch and talk about, the things they are expose outside the school at such a young age are shocking.

My son has just started Junction K-8 this year as a 6th grade student. We were worried about him switching schools and have realized we have made the best choice. No regrets. As a family, we are quite IMPRESSED with this school. The teachers are phenomenal. They make themselves available to answer any questions. Everything is about working at an equal pace. Homework is even through out the year so that students develop good study habits with the same study routine. My son enjoys going to school. He didn't at his former school. His grades are wonderful and most importantly he is very happy. Because he is enjoying his time at school, he is getting a better education. As a parent, I love that I am able to view his schoolwork on the School Loop website. It's a great tool that keeps the lines of communication going between teachers, students and parents.
