Sato Academy is a very new school, which 2019 would be its first graduation for the founding class. Despite its small size (about 120 students per grade) and being a brand new school, it runs quite effectively due to the hardest working principle I ever experienced and all the dedicated teachers who came to Sato to build an exceptional school. You have to meet certain GPA criteria to attend here (was 3.0 first year, heard it got lowered to 2.75) so all students are good students. You don't see anyone bullying or causing problems. Classes are rigorous due to its STEM-focused nature, but students are lucky enough to be able to take Project Lead The Way engineering classes all 4 years. Another great advantage is that high achieving students are allowed to take college courses at Cal State Univ. Long Beach, which is located right next to Sato. Since Sato was modeled after CAMS, I am confident that it will be another great asset to Long Beach Unified School District in near future. If you want a high quality education without paying for a private school, Sato is a great school to attend.

This school is an academically rigorous, competitive school for sciences and technology. It almost seems like a dream when the ratios (student to teacher) are seen on campus. But I warn you about being prepared for the work load (8 classes minimum) per semester and accelerated is an understatement. I think this is a wonderful school for those serious about their future careers in Engineering and Medical Science.
