My child has had a good experience at this school so far. As a parent, I appreciate the small size, caring teachers, and broad curriculum. These kids become fluent in two languages, learn excellent math skills, become physically fit, and learn to get along with a wide variety of people. I admire how many of the teachers lead clubs and teams and devote so much of their free time to the students and community here. Middle school is a difficult age and growth can be uncomfortable and messy at times. I feel adults here strike a good balance between high expectations, nurturing encouragement, and tough love. We have had our share of ups and downs and realize that no school is perfect, but I am happy my child goes here. I don't know of any better public or private program in Long Beach.

HK is a great school. Principal is great. Teachers are great. School has fewer students than larger middle schools. Great place for a dual immersion student to go.

Very happy with this school! Dual inmersion program is the best program that you can choose, *Principal, teachers and staff members are so dedicated with all the students, I'm so glad that my kids were accepted at this school* and my kids love the school... 100% recomended

If you want your kid to speak a mediocre Spanish, This is the place ! Terrible principal and very arrogant staff. My kid got told by a teacher that my kid was wasting his time and his time was not for free, when my kid only wanted to have an A in his class and when early to finish his work. That is only one of many. The way the approach the kids is very disrespectful. Worst mistake ever, end up moving him to other school as well as 5 other families that I know of .
