Brentwood Science School

Here is my honest review of this school. We came here after a tour where we saw the science labs, music room and art room. I felt like the school had a lot of offer my child. When we actually started attending, there WAS a serious problem with the administration at the school. It flowed down from the top – the principal and administrators, and sadly even some teachers – and it affected every part of Brentwood Science. Bullying, physical altercations, and a dirty campus made this school a really horrible place. We wanted to leave the school but were caught in a bureaucratic mess that kept us at the school.Toward the end of that year, a new principal was hired. We were hoping for a Lean On Me situation. And that’s indeed what happened. Now, we are a couple years in, and I would have to say the change I see is phenomenal. Have we begun to treat our children like scholars? Yes. Are we setting higher expectations in academics and character? Yes. Do the teachers want to teach at this school? Yes. Is the campus cleaned each day? Yes. Are parents being encouraged to participate and be involved? Yes.So, if you are interested in a quality STEM education for your child, this school should be on the top of your list. This school also has one of the best special education programs on the Westside – there are parents who can afford private school who bring their children here for this program.

We are extremely happy with our son’s experience at this school. We highly recommend it.

My daughter has been here for 2 years and loves being a student here. She has grown tremendously in character and academics in such a short time. Our son will be starting elementary school next year and we plan to bring him to BSM as well.

We had a very positive experience with everybody at the BSM and would highly recommend the school for the K-5 grade education. School's location is fabulous- in the heart of Brentwood! We love the school's philosophy and the Principal, magnet coordinator, teachers and the staff members are all wonderful.
