One of the teachers allowed his aide to bring her son to class. I witnessed how she disciplined her child, and it was not appropriate for the classroom environment. Their interaction traumatized my child and I had to transfer him to another school to be in a more nurturing environment because he has special needs.

Good. The school is getting better. There are new programs like Rites of Passage for the 5th grade boys and girls. The school has a counselor, a restorative justice teacher, and a nurse who is at school 4 days a week.

The biggest problem at this school is the racial segregation from the community that gets reflected at this school. The majority of staff is African American leaving many Hispanic parents in able to communicate, understand, and be a part of. Several times Hispanic parents have been told to leave the school because their unwanted. It is unfortunate that at this day and age staff members tell parents to leave because their not accepted. Administrations isn't only aware but sweep it under the rug as if their superiority is to be more integrated and respected by the rest causing intimidation by school officials and the neighbourhood hang which holds strong influences since most of the African American parents there are mostly gang related. The worst thing for a parent is not to sent their children to a school where other piers influence them negatively but for parents and staff to influence racism.

My son has learned so much and the staff is so very helpful with speech therapy and counseling. he has come out of his shell and i thank the office staff and teachers he has had.
