I would not recommend putting your child in this school if their classroom is located in the original building. Due to building materials, walls may be impacted if there is an earthquake..like bricks falling on the students.

I've had 2 kids come here along with several nieces/nephews. I've seen teachers from both a good & bad point of view but personally my kids have been lucky with their teacher selections (Waight, Burnett, Taylor, Abelson, Rucker, Haynes, Martin). They were learning and having fun and interacting with other students & teachers. The principal and vice principal (Mrs Brown & Mr G.) know both of them because of their willingness to always help out or try to joke around with them. They've never been suspended or in trouble (minor notes home of course) and even the crossing guard and lady who greets each child along with several parent volunteers are all very nice and friendly with the kids. The office staff always try to do their best. There have been a few staff throughout the school where I've had to deal with but overall a great school with great help from the community. Oh and it's near USC so they always have the students up there to either help out with after school tutoring or science clubs or other random events. Safe neighborhood for them to walk to and from school also.

I would not recommend any parent placing their child in this school. The principal is on a power trip and is not there for the best if the children. Don't get me wrong there are a few good teachers but the politics of this school are ridiculous. Do not send your children here.

From what I have read about this school recently, they have an extraordinary extra-curricular boxing program.
