Lockwood Avenue has recently implemented the Leader in Me program for instilling leadership qualities in students. A strong caring and cooperative approach has become the norm at Lockwood Avenue Elementary. The academics portion of the program puts the responsibility of success into the hands of the students. They are learning how to become empowered learners that realize that being successful can happen by making academic goals, monitoring those goals and then celebrating those successes. The students and families of Lockwood Avenue Elementary are working to become a community of learners and leaders.

This is a great school!!! There are many programs that students and even parents can participate in, and also a dedicated staff that donates countless hours before and after school to help students progress. We as parents have to do our job and make sure we read information that is sent home and that we become more involved at school. I am very pleased to have my children come to this school!

Lockwood elementary is a really bad school. Some teachers help the students n make themunderstand there class work n homework. the principle is very mean to children n she takes there snacks away n through them in the trash. school staffs are very rude to the parent n students. my son has even came home crying because a staff always bench him n dont let him play, the staff has even threated my sons friend to stay away from my child if they do not want to get bench. ive gone to the school n talked to the principle to let her know about the problem but when the principle talks to the staff the staff always denies it n calls my son a liar n it makes my son cry. The principle never believed my son n believed the staff more . this school also never aware about the fight the kids get it. the kids always fight n bully other students n even beat them up n hurt them. I think Lockwood is by far the worst school n the staff should be fired for being rude with parents n students. the principle should be replaced by someone who understands and actually help with the problems n situations going on with there staffs n students.

There is nothing extra at this school. Teachers are not readily available, leave as the kids do. There are not extra curricular activities and the learning seems to be teacher centered and not on the students.
