Micheltorena Street Elementary School

We had heard great things about Micheltorena and were deeply upset. It is not what the principal made it out to be on the tours.

We're not yet done with kinder, but we definitely love the school already. It's not perfect, but it has an incredible parent community, excellent teachers and a fantastic administrative staff.

Micheltorena is an excellent real public school with a dual language program and teachers who care. Don't send your kids to privately-run charters (Citizens) that are intended to be for-profit centers for privatizers like Betsy DeVos and Eli Broad. Invest time and effort in actual public schools.

The school has a wonderful sense of community. Parent commitment to volunteering and supporting the needs of the school is high. The teachers, staff, and principal create a positive learning experience and environment. Fundraising events are so much fun and the dual language program is fantastic!
