I am currently an 8th grader and have done pretty much 5/6 semesters, so I think I know enough about the school to make an honest review. I had an overall positive experience, yet there was still plenty of room for improvement. If you or your child is a slow learner who needs specialized help in subjects, I would not recommend it. There are way too many students for students behind to get ahead. This school is great for kids who are self-starters and get ahead very easily or just average. For example there are honors classes and you can take 9th and 10th grade math in 7th or 8th grade. There are PLENTY of after school activities and so many socializing opportunities. The music program is really good and there is a class for every level in every instrument. One of the big upsides and downsides of a big school is that there are all types of people. If you have an interest, there are probably 30 other people in the school who have the same interest to make a lunch club with. Since it is such a big school there is a big discipline problem. A lot of people get away with things very easily, but it is very very clear they are trying their best and it is a priority. It is just not physically possible to go through every single case of anything that happens with 2000+ kids at the school. The teachers are all experienced but if they are actually a GOOD and desirable teacher really just depends on their personality. Something that can be seen as both a positive, or negative, is the MAJOR push for college. There are plenty of preparatory activities such as college awareness week and CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation). The only downside is that they do not give you the opportunity to explore other paths such as skilled trades, going into the workforce right out of highschool, or entrepreneurship. There is much pressure and they make sure to make people feel ashamed for wanting to follow an alternative path. I understand where this comes from though as college is the most "secure way" to succeed. Most other paths have greater risks, yet usually have greater returns, so they pressure you not to follow those paths even if it's right for you. A big part of school is homework. I would say homework DECREASES through the grades. 6th grade had the most homework and 8th grade had the least event though the classes are more difficult.Honestly, I feel like this school is slightly above average. There's nothing CRAZY good but nothing really bad so it was alright.

Great school. Honor class is challenging but my child has progressed and seems to be doing extremely well.

Overall it has been a good experience. Mr. Ianucci is great, most of the teachers are amazing, counsellors are top-notch. However, it’s 40% of what it can be across the board.

I give my experience at this school a 4 out of 5.I started this school like 8 weeks ago and as a student the kids were pretty nice.
